The Best Trips Ever
The Best Trip ever!
To be honest, I really can't say which my most favourite trip is. There are many. My father loved taking us on trips and we loved how he planned it.
Of the trips I've gone on, my trips to Kashmir and Darjeeling are closest to my heart.
The Darjeeling trip took place in January 2020, an amazing timing. Because right after we came back, in a month the Covid lockdown came into being. The trip was beautiful, we had a good time and I had a lot of momos! The trip consisted of visits to Kolkata and Darjeeling. I really did not like Kolkata that much, it was majorly messy. Of Course there was an old city charm, but it made me think a lot about urban planning. Few good things were rosgollas, biriyani, trams and Mother Teresa’s place. At Darjeeling, the morning Sunrise view of the Kanchanjunga peaks with the golden hues was mesmerizing. I very much relished the flavours of Darjeeling Chai. Refreshing and Rejuvenating.
The Kashmir trip is more recent, I went in February. It was a surprise trip! When I had returned home for the semester break they revealed it to me and I was jubilant. That's the farthest place I've gone within India. I saw snow for the first time in life and had this great delicacy called Walnut fudge from Moonlight Bakery,a must visit place when you are in Srinagar.I shall never forget how it felt to have it on my tongue the first time. I also stayed in a houseboat in Dal lake, it was freezing. As it was peak winter time I was fortunate enough to experience sub zero temperatures. The hot sips of Kashmiri Khawa kept me warm through out the trip.
Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Pahalgam were exotic and surreal experiences to say the least.... My Gondola ride in Gulmarg was mind-blowing. Kashmir is truly a heaven on Earth !
People of Kashmir were so friendly, it was also sad that they have been suffering for so many years just because of the place they live in.
Would love to visit Kashmir in the near future.
One common thing between both these trips was that my parents made me dress up in the local attire and took so many cute pictures of me.
I was lucky enough to get a window seat in the flight too, on both of these trips.
Kashmir & Darjeeling are places that are awesome & should be a top priority in one's travel dreams.
